An Unusual Story about Slavery

Most of us have read the history books and have a general understand of slavery in America. Rather than quote or regurgitate what can be read in those books, I will tell the story of a woman who live in South Carolina during the time of slavery. I doubt anyone outside of my family has ever heard of her until now. Her story can only be retold by those who have read her diaries. I inherited those diaries from my grandfather.
